All volunteers must complete the Archdiocese of Seattle’s VIRTUS Safe Environment training requirements before volunteering. ​The Archdiocese of Seattle is committed to the protection of children, youth and vulnerable adults. For more than 25 years, the Archdiocese has taken steps to assure the safety of those who serve in our parishes and schools. ​
The Archdiocese of Seattle requires all volunteers working with children to complete the VIRTUS Safe Environment Program. Volunteers must:
  • Successfully undergo a criminal background check
  • Complete one in-person Protecting God’s Children course
  • Complete an online refresher course and renew background check every three years
 
GETTING STARTED
Follow this link: VIRTUS database 
  • Create a VIRTUS profile by choosing First Time Registrant
  • Select “Begin the Registration Process”
  • Select Seattle, WA – Archdiocese from the drop-down list
  • Create User ID and Password
  • Scroll down and select St. Joseph School
  • Follow the prompts to register for classes in our area. ​
NEW: There is now a video option you can watch online anytime. Click here VIRTUS database to create your profile and sign up for Protecting God’s Children 4.0, Seattle.

​Participants should use a computer, video is not compatible with most phones. (English, Spanish, and several other languages available)
