Looking for Handy Volunteers
We are building a list of volunteers to help with various projects as they come up. If you are good at following assembly instructions and assembling items or working on fix-it projects please let us know. We have many upcoming projects and need handy people to help out! Email Eileen to get on the list, eileens@stjoevanschool.org.
Recess Volunteer
Help supervise during 1st-8th grade recess, 11:20-12:55. Email Eileen Sherrill if you are interested. Volunteers must be VIRTUS trained.
Kindergarten Lunch & Recess
We always need help with kindergarten lunch, contact Mrs. Barbieri or Mrs. Tijerina to schedule.
Parish Share Hour Opportunities:
Friday morning Church Cleaning Team
We need a team of volunteers to vacuum pews, straighten books, and help prepare the church for Sunday Masses. Help is needed Friday mornings at 10am-12pm, beginning Nov. 18. Email Mark Steele if you are called to serve, marks@stjoevan.org.

St. Joseph Funeral Reception Ministry
The St. Joseph Funeral Reception Ministry is in need of volunteers who are willing to be on call for funeral receptions. Click here to put your name on our volunteer list. When a funeral is scheduled, a coordinator will send a Sign-up Genius to obtain volunteers to provide hospitality, serve refreshments, and do some light cleanup during a scheduled funeral reception. At most, volunteers will be at the church for three hours, usually mid-day on weekdays. You can sign up on a case-by-case basis, depending on your availability. Parish Garden Volunteers
Do you have a green thumb or just enjoy working with your hands in rich organic soil? The Parish Garden needs you! Parish and school families are welcome to participate in the parish garden. Fifth grade preps the soil and seeds, plants, tools, and supplies are provided. The time commitment is flexible and counts for parish or school share hours. The harvest from the garden is donated to St. Vincent de Paul for distribution to those in need in our local community. The season runs from spring until late fall. Prepare & Serve a Monthly Meal for Bertha’s Place
Join a group of parishioners to help prepare and serve meals to residents at Vancouver’s two newest shelters: Bertha’s Place and Bertha’s Too. These shelters, operated by Catholic Community Services, offer shelter and services to about 90 women, couples, and people over 55. Volunteers will prepare, transport, and serve a meal once a month for the people at each shelter. For more information and to sign up, contact Ian Salzman at ians@stjoevan.org or (360) 823-2832.

Committed Adorers are needed as well as additional substitutes for our Substitute List. Share Hour Online Reporting Form
When you have hours to submit, you can complete the ONLINE form. If you will be including receipts for share hour credit, the receipts should be placed in an envelope with your family’s name on it and reference that you submitted the online form if applicable and submit to the school office.
If you purchase items for events or wish to opt out of giving share hours to the community, you can pay $25/hour.
Parish share hours can be completed in many different St. Joseph Parish ministries. Parents, grandparents, and siblings (high school or older) are eligible to work to earn share hours.
