Recess Volunteer
Help supervise during 1st-8th grade recess, 11:20-12:55. Email Theresa Stuhrman if you are interested. Volunteers must be VIRTUS trained and vaccinated.
Parking Lot Volunteer
Help enhance parking lot safety during morning drop-off! We need parent volunteers to help with crossing guard duty, guiding cars forward, and to help move traffic safely. We need help daily from 7:50am-8:20am. Sign up for a shift(s) here.

Help spruce up the parish and school grounds - New date TBD. Meet in front of Marian Hall and bring gloves, rakes, and gardening tools. For questions, contact Mark Steele, marks@stjoevan.org. Earn parish or school hours for your work!
Parish Garden Volunteers
Do you have a green thumb or just enjoy working with your hands in rich organic soil? The Parish Garden needs you! Parish and school families are welcome to participate in the parish garden. Fifth grade preps the soil and seeds, plants, tools, and supplies are provided. The time commitment is flexible and counts for parish or school share hours. The harvest from the garden is donated to St. Vincent de Paul for distribution to those in need in our local community. The season runs from spring until late fall. St. Joseph Parish Office needs assistance with their Annual Catholic Appeals mailings. Help is needed from 9am-12pm on June 2, 16, 30. Sign up for a shift here.
Prepare & Serve a Monthly Meal for Bertha’s Place
Join a group of parishioners to help prepare and serve meals to residents at Vancouver’s two newest shelters: Bertha’s Place and Bertha’s Too. These shelters, operated by Catholic Community Services, offer shelter and services to about 90 women, couples, and people over 55. Volunteers will prepare, transport, and serve a meal once a month for the people at each shelter. For more information and to sign up, contact Ian Salzman at ians@stjoevan.org or (360) 823-2832.

St. Joseph Church is in need of ushers, greeters, and livestream operators for each of our Sunday Masses. Contact Deacon Felix if you are interested, felixg@stjoevan.org.
Substitute Adorers
Committed Adorers are needed as well as additional substitutes for our Substitute List. If you were previously on our substitute list and would like to continue or if you are interested in starting, please contact Shirley Buckmier at jsbuck1192@comcast.net or 360-883-9333. You can choose hours that fit your schedule! (Personal Adoration does not count for Share Hours, only acting as a registered Adorer will count)
NOTE: Due to current restrictions, we do not have as many volunteer opportunities available. We look forward to adding events back in the future and will let you know when more volunteer opportunities are come open. We understand that some families will not be able to meet their obligation but ask you to try your best and get involved where you can.

When you have hours to submit, you can complete the ONLINE form. If you will be including receipts for share hour credit, the receipts should be placed in an envelope with your family’s name on it and reference that you submitted the online form if applicable and submit to the school office.
If you purchase items for events or wish to opt out of giving share hours to the community, you can pay $25/hour.
Parish share hours can be completed in many different St. Joseph Parish ministries. Parents, grandparents, and siblings (high school or older) are eligible to work to earn share hours.
