**All families should subscribe to FlashAlert Login - review your account OR follow step by step instructions to subscribe. Be sure to select the Portland/Vanc/Salem Region. Once registered, closure information will be emailed to you. Add as many email addresses as you like. Registration is free and should be renewed annually. SchoolMessenger is a messaging platform offered through our PowerSchool system. We are still refining the process, but if you have not yet opted in, please do. This will allow you to receive a text in the event of closure or other important information. Once you opt in, you will receive a message back reading, “You’re registered 4 SchoolMessenger notifications…” |
GENERAL CLOSURE INFO:
**As a general rule, St. Joseph School follows the closure and delay schedule of Vancouver Public Schools. There may be times when Vancouver schools remain open or without delay, but we have made the decision to close or delay. The reverse is also true if we can operate, but Vancouver schools remain close (example: power outage).
Any deviation from Vancouver Public Schools will be shared through FlashAlert posted on local news, our Newsflash, website, Facebook, and Instagram.
Some general notes on late start and closure:
NOTE: The safety of students and families is paramount. If your local school district is closed or opening late, you may follow your local school district’s directions. Weather related absences will be excused.

- If school is closed or starts late, morning Extended Care will be canceled.
- If school begins late, morning PreK will be canceled but full day PreK will still be held on the late start schedule. Afternoon PreK classes will operate on a regular schedule.
- If school starts late, there will be limited salad bar option for lunch.
- If school closes early, PreK and PM Extended Care will also be closed.
